It can be very difficult to stick to your diet during the winter, especially if you have an office job and you don't cook your own food. If you happen to be someone who needs to buy your lunch, then it can be easy to overeat and consume too many calories. Most fast food is laden with a ton of excess calories and is simply not a good fit if you are on a diet. The last thing you need to do during your lunch hour is eat a couple slices of cheesy pizza or something else that will put your hundreds of calories over your target goal for the day. The problem lies in the fact that so many of the lunch items that you will find from local places are quick, easy, and, unfortunately, loaded up with tons of calories. So, with that understanding, here are some things you can order from local restaurants that will keep you on your diet.
A Healthy Sandwich
A good sandwich is something that might be just what you need in order to stay on your diet. You can get a really well made and healthy sandwich from any number of local take out restaurants and delis. What you can do if they don't have something already on the menu is to create one and have them make it to order. So, you will want to order whole grain bread to start with, instead of white bread. Then you will want to order lots of vegetables instead of meats and cheeses. Opt for any sort of vegetarian offerings such as falafel, hummus, or a bean burger. These are lower in calories than getting cheese and meats slathered in mayo.
Pizza Without The Guilt
Pizza doesn't have to be a guilty pleasure. You can find many pizza delivery shops that will have items on their menu that are not loaded with calories. For instance, you can get one that doesn't have a ton of cheese and is also made with a thin crust. The less dough, the less calories. Also, opt for toppings that are vegetables and low in calories, instead of extra cheese or meats.
Salad: Hold The Dressing
Many people order salads for lunch, but the big problem is when you add in a ton of salad dressing. These dressings can really put you over the edge when it comes to calories. So, either skip the dressing all together or else opt for something such as a light version or balsamic vinegrette.
Hi there, my name is Marcy Dillinger. Welcome to my site about using spices in your recipes. When I was in college, I only had salt and pepper on hand to season my meals. The result was a rather bland culinary experience. Since then, I have filled my cupboards with spices from all around the world. I use a blend of spices in each meal I create to give the meat, produce and other ingredients amazing flavor profiles. I will use this site to talk about the different ways you all can use spices to cook your favorite meals. Please come by again soon.
